Legend holds that the Tapas tradition began when King Alfonso O Astrólogo of Castile miraculously recovered from illness by drinking wine with small dishes between meals. Health regained, the King ordered that all wine in Spain must be served with a Tapa.

Today, delectable appetizer-sized Tapas provide sustenance between traditional Spanish lunch and dinner hours. Spaniards all over the world gather every evening for Tapas to gossip, argue, talk sports or just spend some time together before returning home.
